Here’s a cool utility that you might like.

It looks very customizable, and easily so. I never used make (which it appears to overlap), but I create lots of my own bash aliases for things. just looks like it does that and tons more.
It overlaps less with your howzit program, which focuses on note-taking, but maybe they are tools that could be used together.
Curious to know your thoughts.
